The performance analyze and control of a coupled tank liquid-level system via PI & backstepping controllers

In this study, Backstepping and conventional PI controllers are applied to the coupled tank liquid level system and the controller performances are analyzed in real-time application. For different reference signals applied to the system, controllers' performances are examined in terms of their tracking performance, error elimination capability occurred in the system and stability analyzes. The experimental results indicate that Backstepping controller is better than PI controller in terms of their reference tracking successes and error elimination performances.
