Hybrid cascade-type energy cell for harvesting solar and mechanical energy

This paper presents the first cascade-type compact hybrid energy cell (CHEC) that is capable of simultaneously or individually harvesting solar and strain energies. The CHECs ability is demonstrated by deploying a single 1.0 cm
²
-sized CHEC to charge a commercial capacitor.
