Strategies for Ongoing Improvement

One of the most inevitable things one will encounter in their architectural career is adding features to an app or service. In reality, one need to make sure the feature makes sense in their app. If one's feature requires new user interface (UI) elements, obviously they need an updated app. This updated app will need to be deployed first to internal testers, then beta testers, and finally to production. If one's new features have a new service associated with it the Service Interface Layer (SIL) will need to expose that service. The SIL will be responsible for routing the right app to the right version of the service. The Data Abstraction Layer (DAL) work would have been done prior to service deployment into testing and production. Depending on how one has built their DAL, some of the physical components may be deployed in the Service Layer (SL), and some in the Data Layer (DL).
