Moving ICTD Research Beyond Bungee Jumping: Practical Case Studies and Recommendations

In this work, ICTD refers to Information and Communication Technologies and Development, or Information and Communication Technologies for Development. The former construction “and Development” can be associated with studies of the processes and consequences of technology adoption, whereas the “for Development” formulation may be more appealing for engineers, setting the goal of devising technologies and establishing (socio-)technical interventions to contribute toward development.
