Egocentric Direction Estimates In Pictorial Displays

Observers have judged the depicted directions of targets with respect to both egocentric and exocentric reference directions. The underlying open-loop errors provide insight into the interpretative processes used to perceive the spatial layout of scones such as these typically viewed during teleoperation. The results will support improved designs for teleoperation viewing systems.
