Statistical Performance Analysis of the Adaptive Orthogonal Rejection Detector

Besides noise and potential targets, there usually exists jamming, which can significantly degrade detection performance of a detector. In this letter, we analyze the statistical performance of the adaptive orthogonal rejection detector (AORD), recently proposed for the case of completely unknown jamming. We derive closed-form expressions for the probabilities of detection and false alarm and show how the jamming affects the detection performance. The theoretical results are verified by Monte Carlo (MC) simulations.
