Optical nonlinearity of few-layer MoS2 devices and applications in short-pulse laser technology

Few-layer transition metal dichalcogenides such as molybdenum disulfide (MoS
₂
) present new opportunities for photonic devices. Here, we review recent progress in few-layer MoS
₂
-based nonlinear optics and state-of-the-art pulsed lasers using this new nanomaterial.
