Cable Modeling for Transient Simulations

This chapter first discusses the cable modeling for steady-state RMS simulations. Sequence impedances in the lumped PI-circuit model of the cable system are derived for solidly-bonded cables and cross-bonded cables. The discussion is followed by the cable modeling for EMT simulations. Both conventional models, such as Dommel's model Marti's model, and latest models, such as frequency-dependent model using vector fitting, are explained.
