Abstract:

Sidelobe blanking (SLB) system design in the presence of both homogeneous Gaussian clutter plus noise and jammer entering through the sidelobes of the antenna is considered. A new SLB structure using invariant receivers on the two channels is introduced and analyzed. A general theoretical framework is developed and applied to the special case of Kelly's receiver [1] on the two channels. Closed-form expressions for the performance probabilities in the blanking and detection regions are derived, and the constant false alarm rate (CFAR) behavior of the architecture is remarked. Finally, several numerical simulations of the proposed SLB system with typical parameters are obtained and discussed.
