RF Receivers for Cellular Telephone Base Stations

In mostcountries there are two cellular telephone operations in each geographic region with the designated transmit and receive bands shared between the two operators. There are no guard bands between the frequencies allocated 10 each operator and in the UK and USA in particular. the frequency allocations are interleaved. Two distincr problems arise from having the competing operators bast stations either co-located or remotely located These problems are investigated and solutions proposed and evaluated. The solutions involve receivers designed as a cascade of filters and amplifiers in order to minimise noise figure for sensitivity and to increase the dynamic range by anenuating the other strong signals.
