A method for measuring the wire tension in drift chambers using neodymium permanent magnets

During the construction of the central drift chamber of the Kloe experiment we have developed a method to measure the mechanical tension of the wires during the stringing phase and when the chamber is completely wired. We use permanent magnets made with neodymium as an alternative to electromagnets.
