Novel Architecture for Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer Using Single Arrayed Waveguide Grating

A novel optical add-drop multiplexer using arrayed waveguide grating is proposed for optical transport networks. By use of circulators in the coupled fold-back paths between demultiplexed channels, we improve the loss margin and crosstalk performances.
