A comparison of linear and nonlinear modelling of the hippocampal EEG

The authors use a truncated Volterra polynomial to model the hippocampal EEG of rats during the vigilance state of REM sleep. A comparison between the performance of linear and nonlinear models is made and it was found that nonlinear Volterra polynomial can significantly improve the accuracy of the modelling of the underlying EEG.<
