SAFRAN: A server of information to provide easy access to oceanographic data

This server has the following objectives: to create a marine information service and to have an archive structure for data files with access on line. Its main characteristics are: a geographical and documentary information system; an on-line query software; a distributed architecture; a multidisciplinary system; a great adaptability towards new media. This product employs the most advanced data processing: relational database software, client/server architecture, fast communication network, high density archiving media, etc. It will enhance the scientific data exchange.<
