Performance of a readout system for silicon microstrip detectors

The components of a readout system for a silicon strip detector designed for a high energy physics experiment are shown. The required signal to noise ratio is achieved by use of a low noise VLSI chip and by use of a software algorithm to reduce coherent noise in the system.<
