Abstract:

In this paper, a parallel systolic array (PSA) is proposed to implement the multiuser detection for asynchronous DS/CDMA systems. Conventional implementation of asynchronous multiuser detection is to set up a sliding received signal window (RSW), and the multiuser detections are applied in the RSW window by window. As we know, in the two edges of a RSW, the interference produced by those edge bits in the last and next windows can not be cancelled. This is called the edge effect. The PSA implementation of multiuser detection does not need the sliding RSW and can avoid the problem of edge effect. Simulation taking parallel interference cancellation (PIC) multiuser detection as an example shows that the BER performance of the PSA implementation is equivalent to the RSW implementation with large length of RSW.
