Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q. Who is an "Authorized User" of this site?

A. An authorized user is defined as the primary contact for an institution's subscription

Q. Why is only one username and password issued per account?
A. This is how IEEE protects the security of the data on the site. Your institution's primary contact may choose to share his or her username and password with others at your institution, but that person is solely responsible for your institution's use of the data on this site and your compliance with the terms of use.

Q. I am the "Authorized User" for my account. How can I get a username and password?
A. Click here to generate a username and password request. Please allow two business days to receive confirmation that your account is set up and active.

Q. I've forgotten my username and password. What do I do?
A. Send an email to onlineproducts@ieee.org.

Q. Can reports be customized for my account?
A. Reports cannot be customized at this time.

Q. I have a question about my usage reports. Who do I contact?
A. Send an email to onlineproducts@ieee.org that includes your question and the best method and time to contact you with a response.

Q. Can I copy the data in the reports?
A. You may copy the data for use within your institution only. Sharing of data with other institutions is a breach of the terms of use and may result in denial of access to this site. Authorized Users are solely responsible for the appropriate use of the data within their institution and compliance with the terns of use.

Q. How often is the IEEE Online Usage Reports site updated?
A. The site is updated monthly. New reports are posted from 2- 4 weeks after the prior month's end.

Q. When do I need to log out?
A. It is good practice to log out when you are finished using IEEE Online Usage Reports. Logging out avoids others from gaining access to the site when you are away from your PC. The account will automatically close after 20 minutes of inactivity.

Q. Can I have an active session in IEEE Xplore and a session in IEEE Online Usage Reports?
A. No. Because we use the same authentication software for both sites, opening an active session in one will cause you to lose your session in the other.
