Usage Definitions

IEEE captures and reports on PDFs served, abstracts served, and denials due to concurrency limits on a monthly basis for each subscriber account.

Here are definitions of each of the statistics:

PDFs served. The total number of PDFs served to the account in total during the reporting period.

Abstracts served. The total number of abstract records served to the account in total during the reporting period.

Concurrency Denials. The total number of denials experienced by the account because the number of licensed simultaneous user seats was exceeded during the reporting period. (Note: We are not currently reporting denials based on attempts to access unlicensed content.)

Due to the use of proxy servers, caches, and other devices, usage at your site may exceed that reported. Access to unlicensed content, including tables of contents and welcome pages, are not captured in these reports. Thus, overall usage by your institution may exceed that reported on the site.
