Working with Abstract and AbstractPlus Records

The Abstract page provides full Abstract records for most documents, including the title, author(s), publication identity, page numbers, and Document Object Identifier (DOI). These items are also included in each listing on the Search Results page. Everyone can view an Abstract.  

Logged-in users can view the AbstractPlus page. It provides additional information; see Abstracts and AbstractPlus for more information.

From the Abstract page, you can:

IEEE Members: You can access full text by filing the document in your IEEE Member Digital Library File Cabinet (if you subscribe) or by purchasing the document.

If you belong to a subscribing institution: You can access full text by filing the document in your institution's IEEE File Cabinet (if your institution subscribes) or by purchasing the document.

Other guests: You can access full text by purchasing the document.

If you see the login area at the side of the Abstract page, log in to access the AbstractPlus page.

From the AbstractPlus page, you can:

Subscribers to the publication: Click PDF to view full text.

IEEE Members who do not subscribe to the publication: You can access full text by filing the document in your IEEE Member Digital Library File Cabinet (if you subscribe) or by purchasing the document.

If you belong to a subscribing institution: You can access full text by filing the document in your institution's File Cabinet (if your institution subscribes) or by purchasing the document.

Other guests: You can access full text by purchasing the document.

The Abstract record has "Not Available" in the Abstract section if it represents one of the following:
