Suppose you want to find articles about broadband wireless access technology.

You can construct a search query that searches for the phrase broadband wireless access in all fields:
Note: When a phrase is entered into advanced search option 1, it will search the exact phrase only - similar to how other engines handle phrases surrounded with quotations. It will not search each individual term.
In the above example, all fields searches all metadata fields (which includes document title, publication title, author, abstract and index terms) but does not search full text. You can expand this search to a full text search by selecting Full Text & All Fields:

Suppose you want only articles with this topic in their title. In addition, you know that the term is sometimes abbreviated to BWA. You can look for either topic in the document title by using the Or operator as follows:

To limit this search to the IEEE Periodicals collection (journals, magazines, and transactions), deselect the other choices under Publications.
