Whenever you click PDF Full-Text for a document that is not in your IEEE personal online subscription, you receive the message "The document you have selected is not part of your online subscriptions." If you subscribe to the IEEE Member Digital Library, you can file and access up to 25 documents each month that are not part of your online subscriptions. The documents you can file must be in IEEE journals, magazines, transactions, letters, or conference papers published within the last five years.
For example, imagine you are an IEEE Member who subscribes to IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting and IEEE Transactions on Communications. While browsing IEEE Xplore®, you skim the abstract of a relevant article you would like to read in the IEEE Annals of the History of Computing, which is not part of your IEEE personal online subscription.
As a subscriber to the IEEE Member Digital Library, you do not have to subscribe to the Annals of the History of Computing to read that article, nor do you have to make an article purchase from IEEE Xplore®—you can simply add the article to your IEEE Member Digital Library file cabinet, where it will reside for five years from its publication date while you are an IEEE Member Digital Library subscriber.
To file a document in your IEEE Member Digital Library file cabinet:
1. Note that the message shows you the number of documents you have filed already this month, and the number of documents you can file before reaching the 25-document limit.

2. If you would like to add the article to your file cabinet, click Add to File Cabinet. A detailed confirmation page appears telling you exactly which article you are about to save in your file cabinet.
Note: You cannot undo the action of storing an article in your file cabinet.
3. If you are sure that you want to add the document, click Add to File Cabinet. An updated view of your IEEE File Cabinet appears.
