Analysis of the single phase full bridge bidirectional boost rectifier via Singular Perturbation approach with power factor correction

This paper presents a single phase full bridge bidirectional boost rectifier with power factor correction. A novel control based on Singular Perturbation is used in this circuit to assert that inductor currents are fast states and capacitor voltages are slow states. The goals of this paper are the analysis and the design methodology of cascaded proportional-integral controller in feedback loop by using of the singular perturbation technique, that guarantees desired output transients where two-timescale motions are artificially induced in the closed-loop system. The stability analysis is based on the use of Lyapunov function. The stability of limit cycle in the fast dynamical subsystem gives the robustness of the output voltage value in the presence of external disturbance and the resistor load variations. The simulation results have been performed through Matlab/Simulink environment and show that the designed controller meets its objective.
