Method to fingerprint matching in the encrypted domain

In our days fingerprint minutiae templates are encrypted to ensure security against biometric system attacks. Comparing the minutiae point into ciphertext using the location and orientation is not possible because the data has been processed and transformed. To match the transformed vectors cannot be used the traditional cryptographic methods because impact over the performance. Fuzzy vault and other minutiae templates protection models have been developed in order to protect biometric data and perform the matching process in the protected domain. These can be categorized into dependent or free alignment. The method used for fingerprint template matching can be designed specifically for this process from the extracted features or can be adapted from another matching method. As results of the experiment can be seen that the values obtained are slightly higher than those obtained from the fuzzy vault and the cancellable templates. However it is considered a breakthrough because the methods described in the literature have vulnerabilities that significantly affect the cryptographic security of minutiae templates.
