On-line estimation of transformer taps

The objective of transformer tap estimation is to obtain tap positions of generator transformers that are not normally telemetered or are initially unknown. This paper describes a transformer tap estimation algorithm that has been added to the National Grid Company's online State Estimation and Security Analysis (SESA) suite of programs.<
