Modification of properties of long monopole antennas using dielectric and magnetic beads

Loading of electrically long monopoles with magnetic and dielectric beads is demonstrated to be an effective means of modifying and controlling currents. The loading can effectively modify the circuit and radiation properties of an electrically long monopole to emulate those of a much smaller resonant element.
