Contrast pulse sequences (CPS): imaging nonlinear microbubbles

Contrast Pulse Sequences (CPS) is an imaging technique based on the processing of nonlinearly generated signals in the fundamental frequency band that can improve sensitivity and specificity to contrast agents compared to second and third harmonic imaging techniques. Several sequences are examined using an adopted power series model. Experimental in vitro results with Definity(R), SonoVue(R), and Sonazoid(R) all support the improved imaging performance of CPS compared to preexisting nonlinear imaging techniques. Human clinical studies were also completed and were consistent with the in vitro results.
