Polymeric 16/spl times/16 digital optical switch matrix

We present experimental results on the first integrated optical 16/spl times/16 strictly non-blocking polymeric switch matrix based on 1/spl times/2 digital optical switches. The prototype exhibits an insertion loss around 6 dB and an extinction of better than 30 dB. The polarization dependence is low.
