3.65 Tbit/s (365 /spl times/ 11.6 Gbit/s) transmission experiment over 6850 km using 22.2 GHz channel spacing in NRZ format

We report transmission capacity of 3.65 Tbit/s over 6850 km using 365 NRZ channels with 22.2 GHz channel spacing over the C-L bands. The channels are measured with performances corresponding to error-free operation with error correction.
