Home appliance control using AMIDEN architecture

The paper describes a peer-to-peer scheme of AMIDEN networked appliances to integrate economically regular information appliances and simple devices such as on/off switches in the same network. We have introduced phase 2 AMIDEN architecture over existing phase 1 AMIDEN architecture for integration. In the phase 2 architecture, AMIDEN nodes have been classified into 3 types: regular nodes supporting only phase 1, naive nodes supporting only phase 2 and control nodes supporting both phase 1 and phase 2 architecture. A control node coordinates information exchange between regular nodes and naive nodes. We may be able to interpret a control node as a translator between phase 1 and 2 architecture.
