An adaptive estimation method for harmonic voltage minimization by means of line conditioners

The authors explain a method of voltage distortion minimization based on the use of line conditioners controlled by means of an adaptive system. The waveform distortion can be quantified with the help of the MSE (mean square error). The method described minimizes the MSE. The adaptive system concept was tested by using finite difference equations to simulate the linear and nonlinear inductive equivalent impedance structures shown. The preliminary theoretical results are encouraging, confirming that mean square error method is effective. The injection of harmonic current that helps reduce the voltage total harmonic distortion will inherently reduce the current pollution in the network. Theoretical results show that this method is accurate and stable, but not rapid.<
