Insulation condition estimation of distribution power cables by on-line and off-line diagnostics

Fundamental aspects of different on-site PD diagnostics are evaluated to determine their information transferability. In particular, using laboratory investigation and field tests, where different insulation defects of PILC and XLPE cable insulation and accessories are analyzed by PD on-line and off-line methods, the complementarity of these PD diagnostics is discussed.
