Integrated multi-band EO sensor for UV, IR and laser detection applications

Summary form only given. BAE Systems is developing integrated sensors for future commercial applications. This paper will present the detailed design of an electro-optical sensor, that incorporates an integrated UV focal plane using AlGaN 256/spl times/256 array, and two dimensional multi-color IR focal plane array covering various bands between 2-10 microns. The sensor concept takes advantages of various focal plane array technologies, integrated into a single sensor with a compact optical assembly. The key components of the sensor building block includes a recently developed AlGaN, 256/spl times/256 UV imager for broadband UV detection. The IR channels include large format 256/spl times/320 multicolor QWIP focal plane arrays developed and built by BAE Systems.
