Space discretising time domain methods for the numerical modelling of electromagnetic coupling in EMC

An overview is given on numerical methods for the efficient modelling of electromagnetic coupling phenomena involving the space discretising transmission line matrix (TLM) method. We consider objects which may have a complex structure of dielectric, lossy and conducting material which are separated by regions of homogenous material. The highly efficient method of adapted radiating boundaries (ARB) and the hybrid TLM-integral equation method are described combining the space discretising TLM method with a Green's function approach. The computational effort of the hybrid methods, the TLM method and the FDTD method is compared.
