Antenna technology plays a key role in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems, which have been widely used in the fields of surveillance and remote sensing technology. A variety of spacebome, airborne, and missile -borne SAR systems have been developed since SAR was invented in the middle of the last century. Jiaguo Lu, the author of Design Technology of Synthetic Aperture Radar, has been active in the field for more than 20 years, and he has done an excellent job of sharing his vast experience with the readers. The book systematically expounds methodologies of SAR design based on engineering practice, including the development of antennas mounted on different platforms as well as signal processing algorithms vital to SAR technology, and the design of state-of-the-art systems based on recent research.
