Software Development for Data Processing from Remote Monitoring of Environmental Situations

The article deals with the features of remote monitoring of environmental situations and methodological and practical issues of monitoring data processing. The relevance of the use of remote methods is due to economic factors, ensuring the safety of the subject of the study and the availability of the territory. Monitoring data are of limited use and need further processing to ensure that management decisions are made with objective and accurate information. For this purpose, geoinformation technologies are widely used, since the data obtained have a spatial reference. The software product in the environment of mathematical modeling MatLab is developed for the processing of data of monitoring of emergencies of natural and technogenic character. The data can be images of various optical and electronic means of remote sensing. With its help, zones of environmental pollution of different natures are identified in the picture and their area is calculated. It uses the method of processing a raster control point and determining the position of image pixels in multispectral space of features based on the Euclidean distances, which allows to recognize pixels with similar values and relate them to one class of objects, for example to the area of oil spills in the oceans. The developed software product was tested on the example of the analysis of the image of oil pollution of the water surface in the waters of the port of Otoriti (Virginia, USA).
