Vacuum ultraviolet photoconductivity of 2,2,4,4,-tetramethylpentane and bis(trimethylsilyl)ethane

VUV photoconductivity measurements were performed on the vapor and liquid phases of 2,2,4,4,-tetramethyl pentane (TMP) and of bis(trimethylsilyl)ethane (Bis(TMS)E). The following ionization energies were measured: I/sub gas/(TMP)=9.5 eV, I/sub gas/(Bis(TMS)E)=7.55 eV, I/sub liq/(TMP)=8.2 eV, and I/sub liq/(Bis(TMS)E)=6.85 eV.<
