Correlations among light emission and partial discharge measurements made during electrical tree growth

Despite long years of research, the mechanism(s) which relate partial discharge (pd) activity to the associated degradation in solid dielectrics in a quantitative way remain elusive. This paper reports the results of an investigation into tree growth in polymers to aid in this understanding.
