Debugging of mobile agents in wireless communication systems

When agents operate in wireless communication systems in a disconnected way, it is hard for a mobile user to distinguish between a failed mobile agent and a delayed one. Thus, there is a need for management functionality which provides feedback information from running agents. This information is required by agent users to control a running application and by agent programmers to debug a developed agent application. Most of today's agent technologies give feedback from agent activities by providing the current location of agents to the user, but only few of then address agent debugging tools. We propose a set of debugging tools which meet the special requirements of mobile agents operating in future wireless communication systems like GPRS and UMTS.
