Finite-element mesh adaptation of 2-D time-harmonic skin effect problems

A finite-element mesh adaptation process is described for the analysis of two-dimensional steady-state time-harmonic skin effect problems. An integro-differential formulation in terms of the magnetic vector potential is used to solve the basic finite-element problem. A local error problem is set up and solved to estimate the solution error on a per-element basis. Mesh refinement is accomplished by inserting new nodes in the centre of the elements or of their sides and by applying the Delaunay triangulation algorithm.
