Application of the high-order Nystrom scheme to the integral equation solution of electromagnetic interaction problems

A high-order technique based on the locally corrected Nystrom method is presented for the solution of surface and volume integral equations arising from electromagnetic interaction problems. It is shown that this method demonstrates high-order convergence for problems involving both smooth and abrupt geometries. The specific advantages of a high-order scheme such as the Nystrom method is that the solution is more computationally efficient than a conventional low-order method. Of equal importance is that the higher-order method offers control over the solution error to the user of the technique.
