A PWM-based sliding mode voltage control of DC-DC boost converter for DC microgrid

DC Microgrids are currently replacing AC Microgrids for distributed generation owing to their inherent benefits like the compatible sources, green environment, high efficiency and solidity. The prime responsibility of successful operations of DC Microgrids is to maintain / regulate DC bus voltage within the adequate bounds amid entire functioning conditions. In this paper, a second order SM control is utilized to generate persistent control inputs conceptualized as duty cycles of the dc-dc boost converter (DDBC). This work is designed to supply both DC and AC loads in remote areas where the utility cannot be accessed. Simulations have been accomplished in Simulink settings and results show effectiveness of designed controller.
