Optical domain performance monitoring

The rapid evolution of terrestrial optical networks is driving the need for optical domain performance monitoring in order to provide the lowest transport cost per managed bit. This paper presents various techniques for monitoring optical signals between 3R interfaces in terms of their economic value to the network operator.
