Color temperature alignment using machine vision

The author aims to adjust the three guns (red, green, and blue) in the standard color CRT so that over a range of video levels the colors will track and match one's expectations of the colors of familiar objects. To simplify the task of color matching, a standard shade of white is chosen which determines the ratios of the three guns in the absence of any color information in the video signal. The gun ratios are to be set at two different video levels, which are selected to achieve the best possible tracking from very low to very high luminance levels. In this application, low light color is set at about 0.5 fL, and high light color is set at approximately 40 fL. Thus, the task is to design a combination of hardware and software which will align the biases at 0.5 fL and the drives at 40 fL to CIE color coordinates of x=0.285 and y=0.294.<
