Mammography image analysis using mobile software agents

We present a status report on our work to develop a mobile agent system, which gathers medically relevant data from digital libraries in order to aid in the diagnosis of breast cancer in mammography. We have made advances in algorithm implementation, and in agent system development. We report on issues of the limitations of computer-independent code and on the status of the mobile agent execution platform. Significant challenges remain in developing a useful system within this immature but rapidly evolving technology.
