Investigation of Thin Wire Structures Including Losses and Coatings Employing Perturbation Theory

A full wave description of a thin wire structure, that includes mutual interactions and radiation, can be obtained with the so-called Transmission Line Super Theory using perturbation theory. A set of mixed potential integral equations is solved for the currents that propagate along a wire. With the perturbation approach, no iteration is required to approximate the initial current distribution on the wire. The method will be extended to incorporate wires of finite conductivity and dielectric coatings. The characteristic impedance of the transmission line is investigated for two example configurations. Computed results are compared to method of moment simulations. Good agreement will be shown.
