Bogatov effect in self-injection locked multimode diode laser: Theory and experiment

We propose a self-injection locking scheme of a multimode laser to the whispering gallery mode (WGM) of an optical resonator for investigation modes interactions in a semiconductor laser and develop a theory of this phenomenon. In the experimental part it is noted that a clearly pronounced asymmetry with respect to the locked mode is observed in the spectrum of the multimode laser. The results of numerical simulation showed that Bogatov effect is responsible for the asymmetry caused by strong influence of the locked mode to neighboring modes.
