Novel characterization and control of recorded track edges

In this paper, a squeeze method of track characterization was developed. This method does not require repeated track profile measurements and offers much improved measurement precision. The effects of write current, flying height, media Mrt, Hc, and orientation ratio on the track and erase band widths were investigated.
