Noise and magnetic domain fluctuations in spin valve mr heads

Previous work bas demonstrated that estimates of domain sizes can be made from resistance noise measurements of patterned GMR films.[l,2] Although not a direct observation, these estimates can be a useful tool for device and design comparisons. Moreover, noise measurements can be readily performed on actual devices where more sophisticated imaging techniques may be difficult.
