Optimal fuzzy control of SIR epidemic with state dependent cost function

During the epidemic spread, a flexible strategy on the variation of the epidemic status would be advisable in view of the limited resources. In this paper an optimal fuzzy controller with a state dependent cost function is proposed. And a specific spread model of the influenza A(H1N1) based on the SIR mathematical model is also built up by using the history data. The fuzzy approach has been tested by the simulation and compared with the mathematical spread model, showing a better efficiency in the proposed approach.
