Long-range wireless technologies for IoT applications: A review

This review paper explains the available long-range wireless technologies for IoT applications. There are licensed and unlicensed spectrums available with a few advantages and disadvantages. The licensed spectrum has strong signal levels, low noise level, better throughput and better range performances. Initial costing of licensed spectrum is hard, and it is expensive to acquire. The unlicensed spectrum is free to obtain and does not cause harmful interference. All the technologies are discussed which will be useful to decide to develop any applications.
